Even head bangers might not be able to take it. Tons of blow-ups. It goes everywhere. Therefore it goes nowhere. The story is out of focus.
There are two heroes. One is a boring, mechanic leader. The Other makes one care. It’s his movie, his “second chance”, his redemption. He is not even given a chance to die in a battle heroically. The operation table just doesn’t do it. And who cares if John Connor dies or not.
When there’s face on the enemy, no conflict between the leading heroes, the story gets lost. The most thrilling scene takes place in the first half. From then on, it’s a huge let down.
It’s a legend that Hollywood action-adventure movies have whamo charts. Five minutes a whamo. They did that well.
